Five tips for maintenance of aluminum alloy die casting molds

When the aluminum alloy die-casting mold is out of use, it must be repaired, cleaned and maintained regularly to effectively extend the service life of the die-casting mold. So how does the die-casting factory maintain the aluminum alloy die-casting mold? After the aluminum alloy die-casting mold is unloaded, the die-caster must hoist it to a designated position and place it, and the die-casting mold repairer will perform the following maintenance.


1. Clean the die-casting mold (including the slider, cavity, core, exhaust system, etc.) to ensure that the die-casting mold is clean and the exhaust is unobstructed.


2. Wipe off the oil stains on the mold and the cooling water pipe.


3. Repair or replace cores and ejector pins that are bent, cracked or broken.


4. For the damaged die-casting mold, after the relevant personnel determine the repair plan, the die-casting mold maintenance personnel will repair it in time. The repaired die-casting mold shall be checked by relevant personnel and confirmed to be qualified before pressure test can be carried out.


5. Die-casting mold maintenance workers must regularly check aluminum alloy die-casting molds, and keep records at the same time. They should also keep records when repairing or replacing cores.


For aluminum alloy die-casting molds with better quality and longer life, the cleaning, repair and maintenance of the molds must be done properly.
